Shangri La is a name Gulf players know from the land-based casinos of the same brand, and the online casino and sportsbook that carries it still draws searches for "Shangri La casino", "Shangri La sportsbook" and "Shangri La bonus" from the region every month. We have reviewed it on this site since 2022. In our September 2026 research pass, however, we were not able to re-verify a single key fact about it: not the operator, not the licence, not the welcome bonus, and not whether it accepts players in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman. Rather than pad the page with claims we cannot stand behind, this review separates what we recorded when we last checked from what is not confirmed today, and points you to a casino whose facts we can confirm.

Overview

What we recorded in our earlier review, last updated in August 2024: the site traded as Shangri La Live, was established in 2016 by InterStorm N.V., a company registered in Curaçao, and presented itself as the online extension of the Shangri La chain of casinos in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It operated under a Curaçao licence. The site offered Arabic as a default language for visitors from the region, alongside English, Turkish, Farsi, German, Spanish, Norwegian and Azerbaijani, and listed the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia among the countries it served.

What is not confirmed in 2026: all of the above. We did not obtain a current reading of the operator's footer, terms or restricted-country clause, and no independent review site was consulted for this brand in our research set. Two changes in the wider market make the old facts unsafe to repeat as current. Curaçao abolished its master-licence system on 1 January 2025 and the sub-licences issued under it expired during 2025, so a 2016-era Curaçao reference tells you nothing about whether the site is licensed today. And the operator names behind offshore brands change often; a company that ran a site in 2022 is not necessarily the company running it now.

We also have no reputation data. Casino Guru, AskGamblers and Trustpilot scores for Shangri La were not gathered, so we cannot tell you how it handles complaints or how quickly it pays. That is a larger gap than any single fact above, because payout behaviour is what separates a usable casino from a risky one.

Bonus and terms

The offer we recorded in 2024 was a 100% match on the first deposit up to $500 plus 100 free spins, with a minimum deposit of €20, and a separate welcome offer on the sportsbook. The wagering requirement, expiry and game contribution were not recorded. We did not re-verify the offer on the operator's site in 2026, so we quote it as historical.

Term Last recorded (2024) Confirmed in 2026
Casino match 100% up to $500 + 100 free spins Not confirmed
Minimum deposit €20 Not confirmed
Wagering Not recorded Not confirmed
Sports offer Separate offer, amount not recorded Not confirmed
Code None recorded Not confirmed

If you reach the site and see a different figure, that figure is the one that applies. Whatever it is, read the wagering multiple, the time limit and whether live tables count before you opt in; our welcome bonus guide explains how to compare offers on those terms rather than on the headline. For a verified comparison, YYY's 100% up to $2,200 at 40x within 30 days is the benchmark on our Gulf pages.

Games and live casino

Our earlier review counted more than 1,000 games from around 30 studios, organised into slots, jackpots, table games, live, video poker and a Drops and Wins section, with Book of Dead, Starburst, Divine Fortune, Gonzo's Quest and Mega Moolah among the titles. Live tables came from Evolution, Pragmatic Play and BetGames, covering roulette, blackjack, baccarat, Mega Ball, Monopoly Live and Deal or No Deal. Virtual sports from Microgaming, Golden Race, Kirin and others ran to 46 titles, and there was an esports section.

None of this was re-checked in 2026, and the studio list of an offshore casino can change with a platform migration. Arabic-speaking dealer tables were never claimed and are not confirmed. For the operators where we have confirmed Arabic roulette and blackjack, see our live dealer guide and the Arabic roulette page; for the slot titles above and where to play them, see the Arabic slots page.

The sportsbook was the stronger half of the product in our earlier review, with pre-match and in-play markets on football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, table tennis and ice hockey, and search demand for "Shangri La betting" suggests that is still what the brand is known for. Our Arabic betting guide lists the bookmakers whose current markets we have checked.

Payments and currencies

Last recorded: accounts in EUR and USD, with no AED, QAR, KWD, BHD or OMR wallet. Deposit methods listed were Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, ecoPayz (now Payz), AstroPay, MuchBetter, Perfect Money, and Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and USDT. Fees and limits were not recorded.

Not confirmed in 2026: every method above. Cashiers change by country and by year. What does not change is the position of the domestic rails: KNET, BenefitPay, Thawani, OmanNet and QPay settle only with local merchants and cannot pay an offshore casino, and a Gulf bank card sent to a gambling merchant code is often declined by the bank. If the site accepts you, the realistic rails are the e-wallets and vouchers above, or USDT where your country's rules allow it.

Withdrawals

We have no current or historical data on withdrawal times, minimums or caps for Shangri La, and no complaint record to read against. This is the section where we would normally tell you how long e-wallet payouts take and what daily limit applies; here we can only tell you what to do about the gap. Verify your account before you deposit, make a small first withdrawal to test the process before you build a balance, and keep a screenshot of the withdrawal terms as displayed in your account on the day you request it.

Mobile and app

Our earlier review described a dedicated app, optimised for one-handed scrolling, alongside a responsive mobile site. Whether that app exists today, and whether it was a store app or a home-screen web app, is not confirmed. Assume browser play in Safari or Chrome until you see a download link on the operator's own site, and do not install an APK from a third-party domain. Our mobile casinos page lists operators whose apps we have confirmed.

Support and Arabic

Last recorded: 24/7 customer support and an Arabic interface served by default to visitors from the region. Whether the support agents themselves worked in Arabic was not recorded, and none of it is confirmed in 2026. If Arabic support matters to you, YYY runs Arabic chat and WhatsApp around the clock and is the operator we have checked.

Is it good for players in the Gulf

  • United Arab Emirates. Acceptance not confirmed. If accepted, accounts would be in USD or EUR with AED card deposits converted; UAE cards are often declined, so Skrill, Neteller or USDT are the realistic rails. Minimum age 21; not licensed by the GCGRA. See the UAE guide.
  • Qatar. Acceptance not confirmed. QAR cards are usually declined and crypto is legally hostile, so AstroPay or MuchBetter funded abroad would be the route. See the Qatar guide.
  • Kuwait. Acceptance not confirmed. KNET does not reach offshore merchants and the Central Bank of Kuwait prohibits crypto; foreign-issued cards and AstroPay or MuchBetter are what Kuwaiti players use. See the Kuwait guide.
  • Bahrain. Acceptance not confirmed. Crypto is licensed in Bahrain, so USDT would be the cleanest rail. See the Bahrain guide.
  • Oman. Acceptance not confirmed. USDT and vouchers work at accepting casinos; Omani bank cards generally do not. See the Oman guide.

Gambling is prohibited for individuals in all five countries, and each guide above sets out the specific article and penalty.

Verdict

We keep this page because Gulf players keep searching for Shangri La, and a blank result would send them to sites that will repeat 2022 facts as if they were current. Our honest position is that we cannot recommend or warn against Shangri La in 2026, because we could not confirm its operator, licence, bonus, payout record or acceptance of Gulf players. A casino with that many open questions is one you approach with a small deposit and a test withdrawal, if at all. We will update this review when a current reading of the operator's site and the independent complaint records is available.

For a casino whose acceptance of all six GCC states, Arabic support, bonus terms and payout limits we have checked, YYY is our first recommendation; its own caveats are set out in our YYY review.

Frequently asked questions

Is Shangri La casino still open to players in the UAE and the Gulf?

Not confirmed. Our earlier review recorded that the site served Arabic by default to Gulf visitors and listed the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman among its markets, but no source in our September 2026 research confirms or denies acceptance of any Gulf state. Until we can read the operator's current terms, treat acceptance as unknown and use a casino whose acceptance we have confirmed, such as YYY.

What is the Shangri La welcome bonus?

When we last updated this page in 2024, the casino offer was a 100% match up to $500 plus 100 free spins on a minimum €20 deposit, with a separate sports offer. We did not re-verify that figure on the operator's site in 2026 and the wagering requirement was not recorded, so treat it as historical rather than current.

Who operates Shangri La and where is it licensed?

Our earlier review named InterStorm N.V., a Curaçao company, with a Curaçao licence and a link to the Shangri La land-based casino chain. None of that was re-verified in 2026, and Curaçao's licensing system was rebuilt in 2024-2025, so any old sub-licence reference would need re-checking. We list the operator and licence as not confirmed.

Does Shangri La have a sportsbook?

It did when we last reviewed it: pre-match and live betting on football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, table tennis and ice hockey, plus virtual sports and esports. Gulf players still search for Shangri La sportsbook and Shangri La betting, which suggests the product is live, but we have not confirmed its current state.

Does Shangri La have an app?

Our earlier review described a dedicated mobile app optimised for one-handed use. We could not confirm in 2026 whether that app is still available, or whether it was a native store app or a home-screen web app. Assume browser play until you can see a download link on the operator's own site.

Can I deposit in dirhams at Shangri La?

No, based on our last check. Accounts were held in EUR and USD only, so a deposit from an AED, QAR, KWD, BHD or OMR card would be converted by your bank. USDT and other crypto were listed and avoid the conversion, subject to your country's rules on crypto.
