Emiratis are up for a treat as the Global Esports tour makes a stop in Dubai today November 26 and 27, 2021. Following a successful opening in Los Angeles and first live audience event in Riyadh, the tournament has left gamers in anticipation.
The two tournament nights will feature Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), a favorite among gamers. While the game was first released almost a decade ago, its player count has not wavered. The multiplayer first-person shooter has attracted millions of monthly active users.
The first stage of the leg took place last weekend. This included an open qualifier between 32 of the UAE’s top CS:GO teams to determine which of the 16 players would progress to the finals.
The top 16 that have progressed to the second stage will go head to head through a virtual series that will be live streamed on the GEF’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
The winning team will join seven international pro-teams at GET Dubai in March 2022, to compete for a total prize pool of AED1 million. And betting enthusiasts around the world has gathered to follow the event. And for the people who are visiting Dubai there are many betting sites in UAE to choose from.
“This year has been a year of many firsts for the Global Esports Federation. From staging our first ever live tournament in Los Angeles, to our first live-audience event in Riyadh with thousands of spectators,” said CEO of the GEF, Paul J. Foster.
“GET Dubai wraps up this year’s Global Esports Tour calendar before we head to Singapore for our inaugural flagship event, the Global Esports Games.
“We look forward to an even more robust calendar in 2022 as we reconvene in more global cities next year for the GET”.
The GET Dubai will run concurrently with the next edition of GEFcon, taking place at the Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) at the Expo 2020 Dubai on November 26, 2021.
