What is Roulette?
Roulette is a French casino game that was invented sometime in the 17th century. At the time, the game looked a little different. It was not until the 20th century before the game rebranded into what we know today.
The game itself is quite simple. But today there are a lot of different variations and advanced game types. For the sake of simplicity, we use European roulette as an example before we go into other variants.
The goal of the game is to guess the correct result for a ball that spins in a wheel before stopping in a slot. If you guess right the right slot, you win – if you guess wrong, you lose.
This is how it looks
The table itself is divided into two sections. The layout may vary depending on the game provider, whether you are playing on a mobile phone or if you are playing roulette on a slot machine.
But the basics are always the same. The two parts of the table consist of a wheel and a a betting area. The betting area is for bets, while the wheel controls the game’s results. As a player, you only interact with the betting area, which is where you place your bets in the form of chips. The dealer takes care of the spinning of the wheel.
The Roulette Wheel
The wheel consists of 37 numbered slots from 1 to 36. The green compartment consists of a zero (0). It is these numbered slots that are then giving the game its result.
The order of the numbers on the wheel is designed in such a way as to achieve the greatest possible variation in results.
Red and black slots are spread out in such a way that none of the colours has an adjacent slot of the same colour.
Low and high numbers are scattered around the entire wheel so that the odds of getting a low/high result are the same.
Odd and even numbers are carefully distributed along the wheel so that there are never more than two odd/even slots next to each other.
When all bets are placed, the dealer spins the wheel. At that stage, the ball comes in as the dealer spins it in the opposite direction as the wheel spins. When the ball finally ends up in a slot, a result is determined. It is the numbered slot that ball landed in which is the winning number and the winning colour.
The different parts of the wheel
The wheel is sometimes divided into different parts based on system bets in French roulette. This is often seen in European roulette as well. We will go into this in detail further down in the article.
The game board on the table is divided into two different parts – inside bets and outside bets.
Inside bets, also called ‘internal bets’, are the numbered areas that represent the slots on the wheel. It is with inside bets that you can win some real money. But that also means that inside bets have the lowest probability of resulting in a win.
Pros and cons with inside bets
Easy to understand
Low winning probability
Inside bets explained
Straight-up bet placed on 7.
Straight-up, also called single number, is a type of bet where you put your chips on a single number. Single number bets pay 35:1.
Split bet placed on 7 and 10.
With Split, also called double number, you can play on two numbers that are next to each other. The chips are then placed on the line between the numbers. Bets on Split pay 17:1.
Street bet placed on 7, 8, and 9.
With trio bets, you can bet on three numbers. Two of the numbers must be in line with the zero (0). Chips are placed in one of the two corners that connect the zero and adjacent numbers. Trio bets pay 11:1.
Trio bet placed on 0, 1, and 2.
With trio bets, you can bet on three numbers. Two of the numbers must be in line with the zero (0). Chips are placed in one of the two corners that connect the zero and adjacent numbers. Trio bets pay 11:1.
Cornet bet placed on 7, 8, 10, and 11.
With corner bets, you can bet on four numbers anywhere on the board. The chips are then placed centrally where four numbers meet. Corner bets pay 8:1.
Line bet placed on 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
With line bets you can bet on six numbers. The chips are then placed at the bottom of the line that connects two rows. Line bets pay 5:1.
Outside bets, also called ‘external bets’ and ‘side bets’, are secondary bets that you can place chips on.
Unlike inside bets, outside bets offer a higher winning probability. However, this means that payouts for outside bets are lower.
Pros and cons with outside bets
High winning probability
Great combinations with inside bets
Low payout multipliers
Outside bets explained
Column bet placed on middle row numbers.
Column bets allow you to bet on an entire column of numbers. Chips placed on column bets are distributed over the numbers in the column you are playing on. To bet on a column, place your chips on one of the three boxes that say “2 to 1”. These bets pay 2:1.
Dozen bet placed on 12 first numbers of table.
There are three types of dozen games in roulette. “1st 12”, “2nd 12” and “3rd 12”. These bets allow you to bet on twelve numbers at once:
1-12, 13-24, or 25-36
Bets on Dozen pays 2:1.
Colour bet placed on red numbers.
Colour is among the most popular bets in roulette. You can bet on red or black. Both colours cover 18 slots each. Bets on colour pay 1:1.
Even bet placed on even numbers.
Even/Odd are also among the more popular outside bets. You can bet that the ball ends up in a slot with an odd number or an even number. Bets on even/odd pay 1:1.
Low number bet
Low bet placed on low numbers.
Low numbers cover 18 of the lowest numbers on the table. Betting on low numbers divides your chips between 1 – 18. Betting on low numbers pays 1:1.
High number bet
High bet placed on high numbers.
High numbers cover 18 of the highest numbers on the table. Bets on high numbers divide your chips between 19 – 26. Bets on high numbers pay 1:1.
With neighbour bets, you can bet on a number and its neighbours in a special betting wheel called the racetrack. It is called racetrack since it looks like an actual racetrack. But in actual fact it is just the roulette wheel but just stretched out to show system bets.
You can select up to nine neighbours for a single number. This is an excellent strategy for guessing where on the wheel you think the ball ends up. All numbers on the board are in order. Therefore, it can be difficult to keep track of which numbers are next to each other on the wheel. With the help of a special playing field, you can get a visual image of the wheel on which you can place your bets.
To give you an idea of what it can look like when playing on neighbouring bets, we will give you an example.
Your chips are automatically placed on the playing field after you have selected number 26 in the playing field.
Other types of bets
There are also a few other types of system bets that are a little more unusual. These are more common in French roulette, but also occur in European roulette.
If you play roulette at a landbased casino, they are often called “call bets” or “announced bets”. These two bets can be made and placed while the wheel and ball are spinning.
However, there is a slight difference between call bets and announced bets.
The player can verbally confirm a system bet to the dealer while the wheel and ball are spinning without placing chips on the table.
The player can verbally confirm a system bet to the dealer while the wheel and ball are spinning but must place chips on the table.
At an online casino, these bets are not available. When the wheel spins, no more bets are accepted. However, players can place system bets manually while bets are being accepted.
Finales en Plain
Finales en Plain lets you bet on any number ending with a specific digit. You can choose between 0 and 9 to place a Finales en Plein.
For example, if you are playing on a Finales en Plein 4, you are playing on all numbers ending with a four. The game automatically places chips on all single numbers of 4, 14, 24 and 34.
Finales en Cheval
Like Finales en Plein, with Finales en Cheval you can bet on numbers with a specific ending digit. The difference is that Finales en Cheval places a combination of single numbers and splits.
For example, if you are betting on a Finales a Cheval 5/6, five chips are placed, and they are distributed as follows:
- Straight-up on 15 and 16
- Split on 5 and 6
- Split on 25 and 26
- Split on 35 and 36
If the numbers 15 and 16 had been next to each other on the playing field, a split would also have been placed there. But since they are not, individual bets are placed.
Complete bets, also known as full bets and maximum bets, are for betting on all possible betting types on a single number. This is a great way to play big and can result in a big payout. The downside is that it is an expensive way to play online roulette and can eat through your balance very quickly.
What does a complete bet look like? We will go through an example to give you a better idea.
Let’s say that you want to place a complete bet on number 17 with a maximum single bet of 100 dollar. In this case 40 chips are required to complete a full bet. We will use US dollars in this case. They are distributed as follows:
- Straight up on 17 (100 dollar)
- Split on 17 and 14 (200 dollar)
- Split on 17 and 16 (200 dollar)
- Split on 17 and 18 (200 dollar)
- Split on 17 and 20 (200 dollar)
- Street bet on 17, 16 and 18 (300 dollar)
- Corner bet on 17, 16, 13 and 14 (400 dollar)
- Corner bet on 17, 18, 14 and 15 (400 dollar)
- Corner bet on 17, 16, 19 and 20 (400 dollar)
- Corner bet on 17, 18, 20 and 21 (400 dollar)
- Line bet on 17, 16, 18, 13, 14 and 15 (600 dollar)
- Line bet on 17, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21 (600 dollar)
That is a total bet of 4000 dollar! As you can see, it is an awfully expensive bet which is why not a lot of players bet on it.
Tiers du Cylindre
Tiers du Cylindre is a system bet that covers a total of twelve slots. The slots in a Tiers du Cylindre comprise of one third of the wheel in the opposite direction of the zero. The bet is placed on the numbers 27, 33 and all numbers in between. This system bet requires six chips, and they are distributed as follows:
Split on 5 and 8
Split on 10 and 11
Split on 13 and 16
Split on 23 and 24
Split on 27 and 30
Split on 33 and 36
Les Orphelins is a system bet that covers a total of eight slots. Slots in a Les Orphelins include five numbers on one side of the wheel and three numbers on the opposite side
The French word Orphelins is translated orphan in English. The reason why the bet is called orphan is because these numbers are not covered by the system bets in Tiers du Cylindre and Voisins du Zero. It may seem like a tasteless name, but the name has been around for decades. A bet on Les Orphelins covers the numbers 1, 20, 14, 31 and 9 on one side of the wheel and 6, 34 and 17 on the other side of the wheel. This system bet requires five chips, and they are distributed as follows:
Straight-up on 1
Split on 6 and 9
Split on 14 and 17
Split on 31 and 34
Voisins du Zero
Voisins du Zero, also known as Les Voisin du Zero, is a system bet that covers 17 numbers. The slots in a Voisins du Zero include the numbers 22, 25 and all numbers in between. This system bet requires nine chips, and is distributed as follows:
2 chips street bets on 0, 2 and 3
Split on 4 and 7
Split on 12 and 15
Split on 18 and 21
Split on 19 and 22
2 chips corner on 25, 26, 28, 29
Split on 32 and 35
007 or James Bond
This system bet is more of a fun bet than a strategic bet. James Bond a classic icon associated with the game of live roulette. It is unclear when and where this system bet began. But it is most likely a homage to the James Bond character. The bet requires 21 chips and is distributed as follows:
Straight-up bets on 4, 6, 7, 9, 16, 18, 19, 21, 28, 30, 32, 33 and 36
8 corner bets covering 1st 12 and 2nd 12
The system bet snake, also called Red Snake, got its name from the fact that it resembles a snake on the playing field. Like 007, a snake bet is more of a fun bet than a strategic bet. All numbers on which the chips are placed are red and shaped like a snake.
It is unclear where the bet originated from, but many believe that Chinese culture comes into play. The reason for this is that the colour red symbolizes wealth. But also because the serpent is one of the twelve beasts of Chinese astrology. The snake bet requires 12 chips and is distributed as follows:
Straight-up bets on 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32 and 34
How to get started with Online Roulette
So, we have explained all the different types of bets you can make in roulette. If you have never played roulette, all this information can be a little overwhelming. But fortunately, roulette is a game you quickly get used to.
Hopefully, by now you have a good idea of what types of bets you can make and what you can bet on. So, it is time to go through how to get started with the actual game of online roulette!
1. Create an account
To access the game, you must have an account at an online casino. Without and account you will not be able to play Roulette. You are welcome to browse through our recommendations of Arab casinosevo.
We have tested all the sites you find on Arabicasino.com and can recommend the ones we experienced were the best. In addition, you can feel confident that they all have a gaming license and offer responsible gaming for your safety.
2. Choose Roulette game
There are loads of different roulette games online. So far, we have explained how European roulette works. But there are other variants such as American and French roulette. In addition, there are other variants that the various gaming provider offers.
We will go through the different variants and what you can expect from each of them. But if you are a beginner, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with European roulette to begin with.
3. Learn the layout
The layout of betting areas, buttons and menus varies from game to game. Therefore, it can be good to learn the basics of what everything means. Learning it once is usually enough, as most roulette games have similar layout and buttons.
We will go through all the different buttons, icons and need-to-knows of a roulette table below. Fortunately, the different features are easy to understand and are often similar between different games. If you prefer the French language, choose a game called French Roulette.
4. Have fun!
Online Roulette is an incredibly fun game that gets even more fun the better you know it. Many have gotten a skewed picture of the game because of movies where diligent characters stand at a table and throw chips on the playing field.
But with a little knowledge of the game, you can give it an honest try. Even though there are lots of different types of bets and advanced system bets, it is easy to learn. But you do not have to place advanced bets in the hope of winning in the beginning. We will take it step by step.
Features and buttons
Each roulette game and table have its own minimum and maximum bet limits. The tables are usually divided into low limit, regular and high limit. Also known as low stakes, regular and high stakes or high roller.
The limits are often displayed in the casino’s games lobby before you click on the table you want to play at. These limits determine what you can bet the lowest, as well as what you can bet the highest.
Your chips are usually displayed in conjunction with the game board. Each time you place a bet with chips, the same value is deducted from your game balance. So, you do not have to buy chips like in a traditional casino.
You can change the amounts on chips to better suit your desired value of the bets.
In some games, it is enough to select chips and then click on the game board to place them. While on other games you are required to drag them to the board from your tray.
Keep in mind that if you play on system bets, most chips are placed out automatically. But you choose when you want the wheel to spin. Until then, no chips are locked on the board. This is slightly different from Live Roulette where you do not control the game itself. We will go into this a little further down this guide.
On the table you can click on features like statistics, favourite bets and playing fields.
The playing field allows you to place system bets such as Jeu Zero, Voisins du Zero and Tiers du Cylindre. Some online roulette tables have the playing field visible, while others have it hidden.
Then you also have buttons to double your previous bet, auto play and spin.
With auto play, the same bet is played repeatedly for several rounds until you stop. For example, if you want to play on red all the time, you can place your chips on red and choose auto play. The spin button is the button you use to confirm your bets and spin the wheel. You do not have this opportunity at Live Roulette as a real dealer controls the course of the game.
In principle, all tables offer statistics that gives you insight into how things have gone in previous rounds. In Live Roulette you can see historical statistics from previous games. But regular roulette you only see statistics of your own rounds.
Below you will see a few examples of what statistics can look like in Live Roulette.
In many games you can see hot and cold numbers, ie which numbers have appeared the most versus the least.
Statistics for external bets such as dozen bets, column bets, low/high numbers, odd/even and colour are also shown here.
Lastly you can view exactly how many times a specific number has won. Choose between either viewing it as a percentage or total numbers. The numbers that have been drawn the most are the hottest numbers. While the one drawn the least amount of times are the coldest numbers.
Do you have a favourite combination of numbers that you play often? It can be a lucky number, date, number, age, yes anything really. Then you can save it as a favourite bet!
All you have to do is to place a bet and then save it in the favourite box that you get by clicking on “Favourite”. Sometimes the favourite box is displayed in the form of a star symbol. The display of the favourite box varies from game to game but is usually clearly visible.
Another secret that the box with favourite bets holds is other types of bets. You usually need to click to get to the next page in the favourite box.
There you will find bets such as Finales en Plein, Finales a Cheval and complete bets.
Many types of roulette, including European, American, and French, offer special rules. These rules are not available on all live roulette tables, but usually on advanced tables from some gaming providers.
La Partage and En Prison are two popular rules found in French roulette. But they have also started to appear in European roulette to give players extra features. It is entirely up to gaming provider to choose which rules they want to apply to the table. Even if they base the game on American, French, or European roulette.
La Partage is a rule that is beneficial to you as a player. If you play roulette with La Partage, you can get back some of your bet in the event of a loss.
The rule applies to external bets such as odd/even, red/black and low/high numbers. As you have probably already noticed, it is on bets that have the same probability of winning and losing.
If you bet on any of the above external bets and the ball ends up at zero (0), you get half the bet back!
Example: You bet 200 dollars on red, but the ball ends up on 0. You will then only only half of your bet thanks to the La Partage rule.
En Prison means “in prison” in French, which can give you an idea of what the rule entails. The rule is similar to La Partage, but the difference is that you do not get the bet back in case of loss. Instead, the bet is marked by the dealer to point out that it is imprisoned.
When the bet is imprisoned, it is replayed. So, you get a second chance.
Example 1: You bet 200 dollars on red, but the ball ends up at 0. Your bet is played again and if the ball ends up in red, your winnings are paid out.
Example 2: You bet 200 dollars on red, but the ball ends up at 0. Your bet is played again and if the ball ends up in black or 0 it will be a loss.
The Surrender rule is basically the same as La Partage and En Prison. But the difference is that it is only available in American roulette.
Something that makes American roulette unique is that there are two zeros on the wheel. A zero (0) and a double zero (00).
Example: You bet 200 dollars on an odd result with the ball ending up at 00. You then get back half of your bet. You get it even if it ends up at 0.
Live Casino has really exploded in recent years, thanks in large part to the Swedish gaming company Evolution Gaming. Roulette was actually part of the first games to be introduced in live format.
Live Roulette almost blurs the boundaries between online gaming and physical casino gaming. The technology has come so far that you get a very real game feeling.
In principle, all Swedish casinos offer live roulette in their live casinos. The positive thing is that it is as easy to play at these live tables as it is to play at digital casino roulette tables.
A big advantage is that the hosts, also called dealers, are helpful if any questions arise. In addition, it is possible to chat with the other players at the table.
This is how you play live roulette
The first time you enter a live roulette game, you get to choose an alias. This alias then becomes your nickname that is visible to other players around the table.
Most tables have a chat function. Of course, there are rules for what you can write and how you express yourself. If you break the rules, you can be blocked from the chat function.
A big difference between roulette and live roulette is that the wagering time is limited. This is usually 20 seconds. It is during this time that you can place your bets. If you miss this, you will have to wait until the next round.
When you have finished playing, you can leave the table. Another difference from regular roulette is that live roulette offers a social aspect where you can interact with other players. A bit like a real casino!
Generally speaking, Arabic players tend to bet at higher stakes compared to players from other parts of the world. This commonality can be seen through countries such as United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, and other Arab countries.
That is why many Arabic casinos focus on offering the best high stakes experience as possible. No matter if you play Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, or Dice, you will be able to bet high.
VIP Roulette allows the biggest players to meet around the live casino tables to play with high stakes. VIP Roulette is exclusive for players that have reached the VIP status at an Arabic casino. This means you will not be able to access the table unless you are VIP.
All players at the VIP Roulette table are anonymous for the exception of the displayed alias. So, if you want to keep your identity hidden when playing VIP roulette, choose a generic display name.
What can you expect from VIP roulette?
As a VIP player you will have access to exclusive tables with only VIP members.
Place individual bets as high as 20 000 dollar per bet for maximum winning potential.
Enjoy nothing but the best VIP service a player can get with exclusive treatment.
Where to find VIP roulette
There are a growing number of Arabic casinos that offer VIP roulette to its players. We have gathered the best casinos that offer VIP roulette below.
Keep in mind that bet limits range from 20 dollar per bet to 20 000 dollar per bet. If you do not see any VIP roulette tables after logging in, you do not have a VIP status. You can see what status you have in the loyalty and VIP program of the casino.
These casinos all have VIP roulette available for their players.
Popular versions of roulette
Just like regular slot machines, new versions of roulette are constantly being released. This is because the demand for innovative features is constant. In addition, gaming providers can release nicer, faster, and better games over time. But the variants that have been around for over a hundred years are French, European, and American roulette. It is these three that have been used as the base game for the hundreds of different versions of roulette that you can play today.
French Roulette was accidentally invented in the mid-17th century by the Frenchman Blaise Pascal. But at the time, it was not meant to be a casino game. Pascal was a mathematician who was busy inventing different types of machines.
It wasn’t until the middle of the 19th century before the wheel saw a major makeover. Then the zero on the wheel was introduced and thus the advantage of the house increased. How did this change our chances of winning?
From the fact that there was a 50% chance that you would guess correctly on red/black, high/low and even/odd, there was now a 48,6% chance. The introduction of an extra numbered slot also made it more difficult to guess the correct number. From the fact that there was a 2,78% chance of guessing the correct number, it became 2,70% instead. A marginal difference that of course affects the chances of winning in the long run.
When the French game began to appear in the United States, the Americans got a flash of genius. Roulette was already a hit with gamblers, but casino owners wanted to see better revenue. That is when American roulette was invented.
To give the house a better advantage in the game, an extra numbered slot was added to the wheel. This numbered slot is the double zero (00). So, on an American wheel there are two green compartments with zeros – a zero and a double zero. How does it affect your chances of winning? Well, from having a 2,78% chance of guessing the correct single number, you now have a 2,63% chance instead.
We were not sure whether we wanted to cover Russian roulette since it has nothing to do with online casinos. But there is a search interest among Arab speaking users. We won’t go into too much detail on this specific subject but want to merely highlight what it is.
While Russian roulette is a game of chance, the outcomes are rarely positive. This is a dangerous game which has been depicted in many movies and is probably more frequent in the underworld.
It has nothing to do with actual roulette or with any table game of sorts. The name however comes from the roulette wheel. In Russian roulette the participants use a loaded revolver – where the barrel has some similarities to the roulette wheel. That is about as much we want to cover on this subject.
European, French or American?
|Category||European/French Roulette||American Roulette|
|Return to Player (RTP)||97,30%||94,74%|
|RTP with special rules||98,65%||97,37%|
|House edge with Surrender/La Partage||1,35%||2,63%|
It is quite clear that as a player you have the worst winning probabilities on the American Roulette variant. Especially if you play regular roulette without special rules.
But if the payback percentage are lower on American Roulette, are the payouts higher? You could have expected that, but that is not the case. Below you see the profit table for the three different variants.
|Bet Type||European/French Roulette||American Roulette|
|Top Line bet||–||6:1|
There are some popular variants of roulette that can contribute to a different gaming experience. This is about being able to offer as much variety as possible of the base game. Many of the variants have been launched by gaming providers who want to expand their portfolio with unique games.
Multiball Roulette is based on the regular game but offers a different experience. You can probably figure out how the game works as the name of the game is quite revealing.
In the Multiball version, you play with more than one ball at a time. If this is your first time playing roulette, this is not something we recommend. In fact, it can be a bit confusing to keep track of bets and results.
Place your bets and play with up to 10 balls on one spin. Two balls cannot land in the same slot, which means that your chances of winning increases. Remember that your bet is multiplied by the number of balls you play with.
Example: You bet 100 dollars on number 5 and play with four balls. Your total bet will then be 400 dollars.
Payout and return to player percentages are the same as European roulette.
Mini Roulette is a mini version of the European game. As you probably know by now, the playing field on the European table is divided into three dozen (1st, 2nd, and 3rd 12). Mini Roulette is only played with a dozen.
This means that you have 13 numbers to play on. 1 to 12 plus zero (0). You can still place most bets such as column, line bet, corner bet and colour.
Mini Roulette often comes with the La Partage rule. Which means that you get back half your bet if you play a game with 1:1 in payout and the ball ends up at 0.
Compared to regular roulette, there is not much exciting to be found in the mini variant. Basically, it is just a simplified version of the game with less options. The game may suit beginners, but we prefer European roulette.
Progressive Jackpot Roulette
This too is most likely revealed by its name. Just like with slot machines, there is roulette with progressive jackpots.
Each bet you make on this contributes a sum to a progressive jackpot that can be won by a lucky player.
To win the jackpot, you must place a side bet in conjunction with your main bet. If you do not do this, you will lose the chance to win the jackpot.
Apart from the progressive jackpot, the game is no different from European roulette.
Popular gaming providers
In addition to the different versions that we have talked about above, you can find a lot of other versions from different gaming providers. In this way, different gaming providers can put their own touch to the game.
This can be unique features and rules. All this contributes to a different gaming experience. In addition, you can find real gems with a decent payback percentage!
Microgaming mowas among the first providers to launch a unique version of roulette. The game is called Roulette Royale and was released in June 2002. Since then, they have launched more than 14 other versions of the game!
This gaming provider is the first of its kind to launch a roulette game that is not live, but which appears to be live. You could almost say that they created a whole new category with this game release. Partly because you can’t place it in the category of Live Casino games, but it is also not a slot machine either.
Real™ Roulette is the name of the innovative game that Microgaming created together with Real Dealer Studios. In 2020 came the first version called Real™ Roulette with Sarati and in 2021 Real™ Roulette with Matthew was launched.
The unique thing about this game is that they use pre-recorded clips of celebrities like Sarah Ashley Callahan, better known as Sarati. This gives a real feeling while the game is generated randomly.
Multifire Roulette was launched in November 2020 and is based on European rules. But there is a unique feature that takes this game to the next level.
After you have placed your bets and the wheel spins, the Multifire function starts. It selects one to five numbers that have a random multiplier between 50x and 500x.
If you play right on a number and it also gets a random multiplier, well then you can count on a real win.
Multi wheel Roulette
Microgaming’s Multi wheel is another version that adds a unique twist to say the least. As the name suggests, the game involves playing with more than one wheel.
In Multi wheel Roulette you can play with up to eight reels! When we talked about Multiball Roulette, we pointed out that it can get a little messy with all the many balls. This also applies here.
This version may be a little too much. It is basically like playing at 8 different tables at the same time but with the same stakes. We that feel that the essence of the classic game is lost.
When it comes to live roulette, there is no game provider that can beat Evolution Gaming. The Swedish gaming company invested heavily in a live casino offering that today paved the way for other providers.
All games from Evolution Gaming are live. This means that you are limited in time when it comes to making bets, just like in real life. But the quality that Evolution Gaming offers is absolutely fantastic.
Evolution Gaming was the first to offer Arabic roulette. To clarify, it is still European rules that apply, but in the Arabic language!
Here the dealer speaks Arabic and all bets have Arabic names. If you prefer to write in Arabic, this is an excellent alternative.
As it is an Arab table, you can also chat in Arabic with the other players around the table.
Lightning Roulette is one of Evolution Gaming’s award-winning versions. Like Microgaming’s Multifire, the game’s unique feature is a multiplier. But in live format!
During each spin, the “flash” strikes between one and five numbers. These numbers have a random multiplier of between 50x and 500x.
The game has won awards from major awards galas such as the Global Gaming Awards, SBC Awards and EGR.
Multi wheel Roulette
This fast-paced version works just like the regular game. The difference is that it only takes 25 seconds between spins.
Here you place your bets while the wheel spins. This means that the wheel never stands still! Usually, players have about 20 seconds to place the games, here you have ten seconds. So, it’s important to be fast.
This is a good option for those who do not have the patience required between the different rounds. Are you fast and feel confident? Then this is a perfect option for you.
Pragmatic started as a regular slot developer before they started exploring live casino games. In addition to developing awesome slot machines, they now have an arsenal of online live casino games.
Like other gaming providers, they make sure to put their touch on the games, even if they are sometimes reminiscent of others. Pragmatic Play is currently one of the largest growing gaming providers in live casino and table games.
Mega Roulette is played with European rules but has a much larger wheel. Yes, do we dare say a mega wheel? This game is like other variants with multipliers, but with more features.
During each spin, one to five numbers are drawn that receive a random multiplier of between 50x and 500x. But to make the game unique, they have also introduced a number of other features.
Mega Bets lets you place huge bets on single numbers. In addition, you will find Mega Chances, Mega Columns and Mega Dozens. These bets are specially designed to suit Mega Roulette.
Live Roulette Azure
In September 2020, Pragmatic Play launched several new live casino games. One of these games was Live Roulette Azure.
Although the Azure series does not differ significantly from the original game, they have invested heavily in the look. Azure is a colour reminiscent of a blue sky – something that really applies to the game.
The game has a crisp 4K stream with a cruel interface that has blue details. Here they have focused on the look of the game instead of focusing on features.
Macao Live Roulette
In this game the focus has been on creating as real an experience as possible. The table and the environment are designed to resemble land-based casinos in Macao.
Here you are thrown into a red and luxurious environment that really oozes casino. Now, you may not have been to Macao, but you have probably seen a movie inspired by their casinos.
Do not expect to find unique features on Macao Live Roulette. Here it is instead important to enjoy the high quality of the studio, the game, and the stream.
Creating games for mobile devices has long been a challenge for gaming providers. Slot machines do not require too much space as the game layout can fit with a few buttons at the bottom of the screen. But for table games and live casino, it’s a different story.
Unfortunately, much of the charm is lost when playing live casino on mobile. A computer screen allows you to be swallowed up by the studio environment and the table. It gives a sensation and feeling of being there.
Fortunately, the game development has come a long way and gaming providers are finding new innovative solutions to this problem. This is especially important for the Arabic market as many Arabs play via mobile.
The interface on mobile roulette is quite different from the computer-based games. This is because buttons should be easily accessible and easy to click. Because of this, they have been enlarged and therefore cover more of the screen.
In addition to this, many functions disappear behind the menu to make room for the table or stream.
United Arab Emirates
Players from United Arab Emirates can enjoy some of the best Live Roulette games online.
If you come from Qatar, you can play Arabic Roulette in versions such as live and real.
Saudi Arabia is a great country to access the best online live Roulette games.
Kuwaiti players can choose between exclusive VIP roulette from Evolution Gaming and more.
Depending on whether you are playing at a French or American table, you can see different names on all parts of the game. Although many of the roulette tables have been translated into Arabic, you will surely come across foreign words. Especially if you play at a live casino. Therefore, we have compiled a list of English and French words that you can use as a cheat sheet.
|Street bet||La Transversale|
|Six line bet||Sizain|
Odds and statistics
To give you a simple overview of the different winning probabilities and payouts, we have created a table. Even though we recommend that you play European roulette, we have included the numbers for American rouleette as well. This way you will get a clear picture why European is better.

Dedicated fans and mathematicians have long tried to crack the French game. Has anyone succeeded? We do not want to claim that. However, there are some strategies that can increase the chances of winning.
Is there a safe strategy? Absolutely not. There is no strategy out there that you can use as a cheat sheet when playing roulette.
How is it that? Just as we went through in this article, all types of roulette have an advantage to the house. So even though you may win in the short term, with the help of luck, these strategies lose in the long run.
A strategy can help you play for a long time. But the worse it goes, the more you lose. The smartest tip we can give is to never chase losses.
Instead, you should see roulette as any other casino game. Take part in the entertainment and keep your fingers crossed that it goes your way.
The Martingale strategy is the most common strategy for roulette. It is easy to understand, but not waterproof. Here you bet on outside bets such as black/red, odd/even or low/high. This strategy is to double your bet after each loss to win back what you lost. After you win, you return to your original bet.
- You bet 10 dollars and lose – you will then double your next bet
- You bet 20 dollars and lose
- You bet 40 dollars and win – you go back to your first bet size of 10 dollars
The calculation of the example we used looks like this:
Your two lost bets result in a loss of 30 dollars. Your won bet of 40 dollars pays out a total of 80 dollars, a profit of 40 dollars. Then remove the loss and you are left with a net profit of 10 dollars.
Easy to understand
Might work short term
You will need a huge betting budget
Tables have maximum bet limits
The Fibonacci strategy uses Fibonacci sequence which determines how much you should bet. Like Martingale, Fibonacci is easy to follow and understand. All you need is the Fibonacci sequence:
Just like with Martingale, it is important to bet on bets with 1:1 in payout. This includes black/red, odd/even and low/high.
The strategy is to place bets according to Fibonacci’s sequence. This is easier for players playing with the euro currency. If you play with dirham or riyals, you might have to change the betting size.
The strategy has two rules:
- If you lose, go one step further in the number sequence
- If you win, go back two steps in the number sequence
- You bet 10 dollars and lose – you will then continue in the number sequence
- You bet 10 dollars and lose
- You bet 20 dollars and lose
- You bet 30 dollars and lose
- You bet 50 dollars and win – then you head back two steps and bet 20 dollars again
Then it continues like this until you are either satisfied or have run out of cash. Fibonacci numbers are fascinating but have nothing to do with roulette.
Easy to understand
A fun and unique strategy
The strategy can’t beat the house edge
The sequence is a mathematical miracle, but not a casino cheat code
d’Alembert is a very simple strategy to follow and not as risky as Martingale and Fibonacci. Here it is important to bet on bet types with a 1:1 payout.
The strategy works like this:
- If you lose, increase your bet value by one unit
- If you win, lower your bet value by one unit
- You bet 100 dollars and lose – you then increase with one unit (10 dollars in this example)
- You bet 110 dollars and lose
- You bet 120 dollars and win – you then decrease with our selected unit
- You bet 110 dollars and win
- You bet 100 dollars and lose
- You bet 110 dollars and win
Then it continues like this. Maybe not the most fun system, but you avoid drastic losses. This of course means that you might slip the big wins as well.
Is d’Alembert a safe way to win money? Of course not.
Why? Even if there was a 50% chance each time to win a 1:1 bet, that does not mean it goes your way.
As a human being, you think that there is a greater chance that the result will be black if it has previously been red five times in a row. However, since each spin is independent of the previous spin, this is not the case.
If we then calculate the actual probability of winning a 1:1 bet, the chances decrease even more. The probability of winning a bet on, for example, red is 48,64% (due to the green zero). This again means that in the long run you can’t count on this strategy as “safe”.
You avoid sudden big losses
Easy strategy to follow
House edge removes the winning probabilities in the long run
The strategy is based on a probability of 50% which is not present in roulette
The Paroli strategy is based on a winning strategy, unlike the previous ones where losses rule. To use this strategy, you must first decide on a starting bet. This starting bet is the one you fall back on in the event of a loss.
The strategy works like this:
- If you win, use both the bet and the win on the next bet
- If you lose, return to your starting bet
- You bet 10 dollars and win – you then bet your stake and win amount on next bet
- You bet 20 dollars and win
- You bet 40 dollars and win
- You bet 80 dollar and lose – you then go back to your initial stake of 10 dollars
With this strategy, it is a good idea to have a total you want to withdraw on. Either you lose the entire balance, or you withdraw the total win amount if you manage to reach it.
Does it work? You probably already know the answer. It does not. Like all other strategies, it is a fun way to play. In addition, this strategy is based on multiplying profits, which is popular as long as it works. If you are lucky, you will win some money. But in the long run, you can expect the strategy to fall.
Low risk for big losses
The strategy won’t beat the house edge

What do we think about roulette?
Roulette is a fantastic game that is incredibly versatile once you learn it. Being able to combine knowledge with an online casino game really hits the sweet spot.
Although roulette itself is a fun game, we appreciate innovative versions of the game. The competition between gaming providers forces them to push the boundaries. The result of this are feature-rich and entertaining games.
But something that really caught our attention is the great development of live casino. Roulette should basically be a bit social where you can converse with players and dealers. This captures live roulette really well. And not to forget Arabic roulette, where Arab players can play in Arabic and chat to other players in their own language.
