Roulette is where most Gulf players start, because the rules fit on a napkin and the live version looks exactly like the tables in Casino du Liban or on a Nile cruise. It is also where most players lose money they did not expect to, because the game's simplicity hides a few rules that change the house edge by a factor of four. This guide is deliberately short on filler and long on the numbers that matter.
The three wheels
There is one roulette game and three wheels. Which wheel you sit at decides how much the casino keeps.
European roulette has 37 pockets: 1 to 36 plus a single zero. Every bet on the table carries the same house edge, 2.7%, which is simply the zero divided by 37. This is the wheel on almost every live table at Gulf-facing casinos, including Evolution's Arabic Roulette.
American roulette has 38 pockets: 1 to 36, a zero and a double zero. Payouts are identical to the European table, but there are now two losing pockets instead of one, so the house edge doubles to 5.26%. It exists because US casinos standardised on it; there is no reason for a Gulf player to choose it when a single-zero table is a click away.
French roulette is European roulette with one or two extra rules for even-money bets. Under la partage, if the ball lands on zero you lose only half of a red/black, odd/even or high/low bet. Under en prison, the bet is held for the next spin instead, and returned in full if it then wins. Either rule halves the house edge on those bets to 1.35%. Number bets keep the standard 2.7%. French tables are rarer online but Evolution runs several, and some casinos label them "Roulette La Partage" or "Salon Privé" rather than "French".

A fourth variant, Lightning Roulette from Evolution, uses a single-zero wheel but pays straight-up wins at 29:1 rather than 35:1 to fund random multipliers of up to 500x on a few numbers each spin. Its overall return on number bets is about 97.1%, marginally worse than plain European. Gulf players love it for the show; just know what it costs.
Bets and payouts
Every roulette bet is a wager on a set of numbers. The payout is fixed so that the casino keeps one pocket's worth of edge on a single-zero wheel. The table below is for European roulette; American roulette pays the same but with worse probabilities.

Two things to take from the table. First, every line has the same expected loss of 2.7% of the stake; there is no bet that is secretly better than another on a European wheel. Second, the bets differ enormously in variance. A straight-up bet wins one spin in 37 and pays 35 times your stake; a red/black bet wins nearly half the time and pays even money. Pick the variance that suits your budget and the length of session you want, not the bet you think is "due".
Avoid the top line (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) on an American wheel. It pays 6:1 and carries a 7.89% edge, the worst bet on any roulette table.
Live tables also offer call bets on the racetrack: voisins du zéro (17 numbers around zero), tiers du cylindre (12 numbers opposite), orphelins (the 8 remaining) and jeu zéro (7 numbers nearest zero). They are convenient ways to cover a section of the wheel with one click and carry the same 2.7% edge as placing the individual chips yourself.
Strategies, honestly framed
Roulette has more betting systems than any other casino game, and all of them share one property: they cannot change the 2.7% you give up on every dollar you stake. Each spin is independent, the ball has no memory, and the payout on every bet is set below its true odds. What a system can do is change the shape of your results: how often you have small winning sessions versus how large the occasional losing session is.
Martingale. Double your even-money bet after every loss so that the first win recovers everything plus one unit. It produces long runs of small wins and then a catastrophic loss when you hit the table maximum or your bankroll. On a $1 table with a $1,000 maximum you are out after ten consecutive losses, which happens about once every 1,000 spins, or roughly once every 20 hours of live play. The maximum exists precisely to stop this system.
Reverse Martingale (Paroli). Double after wins instead, cap at three wins, and reset. Losses are one unit at a time; the occasional three-win streak pays 7 units. It loses money at the same 2.7% rate but is far kinder to your bankroll than Martingale.
D'Alembert. Add one unit after a loss, remove one after a win. Slower swings than Martingale, same long-run result.
Fibonacci. Bet sizes follow 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8; move forward one step after a loss and back two after a win. Same story: a way to organise a session, not to beat it.
Sector betting on live wheels. Some players try to spot a dealer's signature or a wheel bias. Evolution and Playtech rotate dealers, service wheels and use auto-launched balls on many tables. We have seen no evidence that this works online, and casinos can close an account they think is doing it.
Use a system if it makes a session more enjoyable or helps you stick to a stop-loss. Do not use one because a video told you it prints money.
Live roulette versus RNG roulette
RNG roulette is software: a virtual wheel, an instant result, minimums from $0.10, and you can play as fast as you click. The odds are identical to the live table if it is a single-zero game, and the RTP is published in the game's help screen (97.3% for European). It is the right choice for practising bets, testing a system with tiny stakes or playing on a poor connection. Two caveats: many Gulf casinos exclude RNG table games from bonus wagering entirely, and some lobbies list American RNG tables next to European ones, so check the zero count before you bet.
Live roulette streams a physical wheel from a studio with a human dealer. You see the spin and the ball settle, which is why most players trust it more. It is slower (40 to 60 spins an hour), minimums are higher ($0.50 to $1 on standard tables, $50 and up on VIP tables) and it uses data (300 to 600 MB per hour in HD). It is also the only way to get an Arabic-speaking dealer.
Auto-roulette is a hybrid: a physical wheel that launches the ball itself every 30 seconds or so, streamed live without a dealer. Lower minimums than dealer tables, faster than them, and no language question because nobody talks.
Arabic live roulette tables
This is the part Gulf players search for, so we will be precise about what we could and could not confirm.
Evolution Arabic Roulette is a standard European table hosted by Arabic-speaking dealers with an Arabic interface and chat. It is reported at Betfinal, Royals Casino and BetWinner, and listed on VIP Arab Club's own site. Royals also reports an Arabic-hosted VIP Salon.
CreedRoomz Aurum Roulette F Arabic is reported at Betfinal alongside the studio's two Arabic blackjack tables. Again reported by affiliates, not read on the brand site.
Playtech Arabic Roulette is read on VIP Arab Club's own site, which makes it the single best-documented Arabic table in our research.
Not confirmed. YYY Casino and 888 Casino both run Arabic lobbies and Evolution tables, and several affiliates promise Arabic dealers at both. We could not verify it and do not repeat it. Slots Palace is said by one affiliate to carry "two Arabic roulette variants"; unverified.
The live dealer guide has a table finder listing every listed casino with confirmed or reported Arabic tables, their studio and their withdrawal times. Whichever casino you choose, open the live lobby and search for "Arabic" or "عربي" before you deposit; the table is either there or it is not.

Bonuses and roulette
Most welcome bonuses at Gulf-facing casinos are built for slots. Roulette bets typically count 5% to 10% towards wagering, or not at all, and some terms void the bonus if you cover more than two-thirds of the table in one spin. On a $200 bonus at 40x you would need $8,000 of qualifying play; at 10% contribution that is $80,000 of roulette bets. Nobody clears that.
If roulette is your game, either decline the welcome bonus, take a small one you can clear on slots first, or look for a live-casino-specific offer. Bankroll and limits
A live roulette session at $5 per spin and 50 spins an hour is $250 of stakes an hour; at a 2.7% edge your expected loss is about $7 an hour, but the swings are far larger than that. Set a stop-loss before you sit down (a common rule is 20 to 30 units), never chase with Martingale-style doubling, and cash out winnings rather than leaving them on the account.
