Skrill is a digital wallet owned by Paysafe Group and issued from the United Kingdom under an e-money licence. You load it from a card or bank transfer, hold a balance in one of about forty currencies, and pay merchants from that balance. Casinos like it because the money arrives instantly and chargebacks are impossible; players like it because the casino never sees a card number. Almost every Gulf-facing casino lists it. The catch, which most affiliate pages skip, is that Skrill decides country by country whether an account may pay gambling merchants at all.
What Skrill is and how it works
A Skrill account is tied to a verified identity and a country of residence. Once verified, you fund it by card, bank transfer or a local payment option where one exists, then pay a casino by entering the email address on your Skrill account at the cashier and confirming in the Skrill app. Withdrawals come back to the same wallet and can be moved to a bank account or, at extra cost, to a card.
Two account features matter for casino use. The first is the gambling merchant permission: Skrill categorises casinos as gambling merchants and only enables payments to that category for accounts registered in jurisdictions where it holds the necessary permissions. Accounts registered in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman may find the payment declined, or gambling switched off after verification, and the list changes without notice. The second is the Knect loyalty tier, which lowers Skrill's transfer and conversion fees for high-volume users; casual players will not reach it.
Which casinos accept Skrill
YYY Casino. Skrill is listed for deposits and withdrawals, with e-wallet payouts typically processed within an hour once your account is verified. The account is USD-only, so a deposit from an AED or KWD Skrill balance is converted at Skrill's rate. Daily withdrawal limit $10,000, no weekend cashouts. Read the YYY Casino review.
888 Casino Arabic. Skrill is one of the main withdrawal rails, alongside Neteller and MuchBetter. Requests sit in pending for up to 72 hours, the minimum withdrawal is AED 100 and the monthly ceiling is AED 100,000. Because 888 holds AED accounts, UAE players can keep the whole chain in dirhams. See the 888 Casino Arabic review.
Royals Casino. Same operator and licence as the Arabic 888, with AED, EUR and USD accounts. E-wallet withdrawals are quoted within 24 hours after a pending period of up to 24 hours; minimum €20 or AED 100, up to €30,000 a month. Royals Casino review.
Betfinal. Skrill deposits and withdrawals, e-wallet payouts quoted at 0 to 24 hours, minimum $20 and maximum $5,000 per transaction with a $20,000 daily cap. Betfinal bans VPN use outright, which matters if your Skrill account and your login location do not match. Betfinal review.
Haz Casino. Skrill is accepted, but withdrawals go through a 48 to 96 hour pending window before the e-wallet payout of up to 24 hours. Minimum €30, up to €20,000 a month. Haz Casino review.
VIP Arab Club. Skrill for deposits and withdrawals, e-wallet payouts around 24 hours, $50 minimum and a $1,500 daily limit at the entry VIP level. VIP Arab Club review.
Rabona and 22Bet. Both list Skrill, though Rabona's cashier is geo-dependent and Skrill appears in its UAE listings rather than on its European page. 22Bet quotes e-wallet payouts within an hour after an internal review of 15 minutes to 48 hours, with a €10 minimum and no operator fees. Rabona review, 22Bet review.
Depositing step by step
- Open and verify a Skrill account, then check in the app that payments to gambling merchants are enabled for your account. If they are not, stop here and use one of the alternatives below.
- Load the wallet. A card top-up is instant but attracts Skrill's loading fee; a bank transfer is cheaper and slower. Load in the currency your casino account uses if you can.
- At the casino cashier choose Skrill, enter the amount and the email on your Skrill account.
- Approve the payment in the Skrill app or on the redirect page. The balance appears at the casino within seconds.
- Deposit only what you planned to. Skrill has its own spending limits in the app, and every casino on this page offers deposit limits too; see our responsible gambling page.
Withdrawing with Skrill
Withdrawals are paid back to the Skrill account you deposited from; casinos will not pay a different wallet. The casino's processing time is the variable: under an hour at YYY, 22Bet and BetWinner once verified, 0 to 24 hours at Betfinal and Rabona, up to 72 hours pending at 888 Casino Arabic, and 48 to 96 hours plus 24 at Haz. Limits are set per casino and are listed above; Skrill itself applies a transaction ceiling that rises with verification level. Casino-side fees are rare, and 22Bet and Slots Palace state none. Moving the money from Skrill to your bank costs a flat Skrill fee and takes one to several business days, so leave a balance in the wallet if you intend to play again.
Verify your casino account before your first withdrawal. Verification delays are the most common complaint about YYY, Betfinal and Haz, and a Skrill payout cannot start until the check is done.
Availability from the Gulf
- UAE. Listed by every casino above and in the realistic rails for the country. UAE residents can open Skrill accounts; whether gambling merchants are enabled is the open question. Card top-ups from UAE banks can be declined if the bank treats Skrill as gambling-related. Alternatives that work: AstroPay, Jeton, MuchBetter, USDT. See the UAE guide.
- Qatar. Not in Qatar's realistic list: Skrill gambling permissions for Qatari-registered accounts are unreliable and Qatari cards are usually declined on MCC 7995, which blocks the top-up too. Players use AstroPay or Jeton vouchers and MuchBetter. Qatar guide.
- Kuwait. Not in Kuwait's realistic list. KNET cannot fund a Skrill account for gambling use, Kuwaiti cards are refused on gambling codes, and crypto is banned. Vouchers and MuchBetter are what works. Kuwait guide.
- Bahrain. Listed as a realistic rail. BenefitPay and Fawri do not reach Skrill, but card and bank-transfer top-ups usually do. USDT is the cleaner option here because Bahrain licenses crypto exchanges. Bahrain guide.
- Oman. Not in Oman's realistic list; Thawani and OmanNet stop at the border and Omani cards decline gambling merchants. USDT and vouchers instead. Oman guide.
Gambling by individuals is an offence in all five countries. Skrill changes none of that.
Fees and currency conversion
Skrill's costs come in three places: loading (card top-ups carry a percentage fee, bank transfers are usually free or cheap), currency conversion (Skrill adds its own margin to the wholesale rate whenever the deposit currency differs from the casino's account currency) and sending money out to a bank (a flat fee per transfer). Check the current figures on Skrill's fee page for your account currency before you decide; they change and we do not quote numbers we cannot verify today.
Because the dirham, riyal and dinars are pegged to the dollar, there is no exchange-rate risk, only the spread. The cheapest chain is a wallet and a casino account in the same currency: AED at 888 Casino Arabic or Royals for UAE players, USD everywhere else. A separate conversion on the way back out doubles the cost, so withdraw in the same currency you deposited.
Alternatives
Neteller is the same company with the same rules, useful only if one account verifies and the other does not. MuchBetter is simpler to open from the Gulf and is accepted at YYY, 888, Royals, Betfinal and VIP Arab Club. For a rail that does not depend on a wallet provider's gambling policy at all, see AstroPay or the USDT and crypto page. All methods are compared on the payment methods hub.
